Restorative Ethics: A Meditative Exploration of Vulnerabilities and Strengths

Ethical challenges are inherent to clinical practice. Along with adhering to professional codes of ethics, clinicians need internal and external resources, and restorative practices to help develop and strengthen their own ethical intelligence and foster personal safeguards for ethical practice.

This workshop offers a unique and contemplative approach to addressing ethical challenges inherent in clinical practice. Participants will identify a current ethical challenge and, throughout the workshop, engage in an innovative reflective process to explore the specific vulnerabilities, conditions, and strengths relevant to that situation.

Participants will learn Reflective Meditation, a contemplative practice that combines meditation and inquiry. Exploration of the Buddhist principles of Conditionality and the Eightfold Path will deepen understanding of the conditions that contribute to ethical vulnerability while offering practical insights for ethical awareness and decision-making.
